When your regulator questions your fitness to practise, you need a team that understands both police records and professional standards. At Legisia, professional discipline work is not an add-on; it is a core part of what we do. We link your disciplinary case back to the underlying police record, DBS entry or allegation, and test whether it really shows current risk. Drawing on years of experience before bodies such as the GMC, NMC, HCPC, GDC, SRA, TRA and SWE, we build focused defences that protect your registration, not just your file.

Defending Your Ability to Work in a Regulated Profession
Have you just received a letter questioning your “fitness to practise”? In professional regulation, the danger isn’t always the allegation, it’s the safeguarding thresholds regulators apply.
Regulators have the power to investigate, suspend, restrict, and question your right to practise on the basis of incomplete or disputed information. Many professionals lose cases not because of the facts, but because they didn’t respond strategically from the first letter.
At Legisia, we challenge these thresholds, expose procedural errors, and defend your registration at the point it’s most vulnerable. From the first response to appeal, we help you challenge disproportionate findings and build the defence that protects your ability to practise.

Specialist Support for Careers at Risk of Disciplinary Action
We act in disciplinary cases before the main UK regulators, especially where police records or DBS issues trigger concerns about your fitness to practise or remain registered.
- Healthcare regulators (GMC, NMC, HCPC, GDC)
When a GMC, NMC, HCPC or GDC complaint follows a police matter or DBS entry, we prepare your written response, evidence and insight case to protect your registration and patient trust.
- Teaching & education (TRA and panels)
If the TRA or a school panel questions your conduct after an arrest, caution or allegation, we address the underlying incident, context and risk so one event doesn’t end your teaching career.
- Social work & care (SWE, CQC impact)
For Social Work England and care-related concerns, we deal with referrals linked to safeguarding, domestic or historic allegations and show why restriction or removal would be disproportionate.
- Legal and justice roles (SRA, court staff)
Where the SRA or justice employers raise issues around honesty or police contact, we examine the evidence, challenge assumptions and present a structured defence to keep you working in law.
- Financial, security & other regulated roles (FCA, SIA, police)
For FCA, SIA and police staff, we link your disciplinary case back to the original record, test whether it really shows risk, and argue for a fair outcome that preserves your ability to practise.
