Specialist Expert Lawyers
Did a single court verdict flip your entire life upside down? A conviction, even one that is unsafe or disproportionate, is treated as proof of conduct, intent, or risk.
It shapes how employers trust you, how authorities assess you, and how your future options are interpreted. What makes this so damaging is that regulators, employers, and governance panels won’t revisit the underlying case unless the conviction is appealed.
At Legisia, we challenge convictions where the outcome doesn’t reflect the evidence, the procedure, or the fairness required by law. We analyse the transcript, identify appealable errors, and build the arguments needed to correct a result that should never have stood in the first place.

Our Legal Approach
Our Criminal Appeals work is focused on unsafe convictions and unfair sentences. These are the core ways we assess your case and build a targeted appeal strategy.
- Forensic review of the case
We obtain the papers and transcripts, check how the judge applied the law and weighed the evidence, and highlight specific errors that can properly support an appeal. - Magistrates’ and Crown Court appeals
We advise on appeals against conviction or sentence from the Magistrates’ and Crown Court, including whether you are in time to appeal and how permission works if you are not. - Identifying unsafe convictions
We focus on convictions that are unsafe under the Criminal Appeal Act—misapplied legal tests, gaps in the evidence, unfair directions or procedural faults that changed the result. - Sentence and CCRC appeals
We review whether your sentence is excessive or wrong in principle, and in suitable cases prepare CCRC appeal applications where a deeper second look is realistically available. - Honest view on prospects
We give a clear view on whether your appeal is properly arguable, explain the risks and likely outcomes, and only move forward where there is a real prospect of improving your position.

Criminal Appeal Solicitors
Criminal
Appeal
When you appeal a conviction, you need criminal appeal solicitors who can break down how the court reached its decision and why it should be revisited.
At legisia, we take on convictions that are unsafe under the Criminal Appeal Act, overstated or built on gaps in evidence, analysing the decision line by line to identify real grounds of appeal. Most unsafe convictions aren’t the result of one major error, but a series of small missteps – details the court never fully addressed.
As criminal appeal lawyers, our work covers appeals against conviction and sentence from the Magistrates and Crown Court, as well as CCRC appeal routes for cases that require a deeper review.
