About Us
Our Story
Legisia Didn’t Start As A Law Firm.
We Started As A Response
Over 17 years ago, Matt handled his first police caution removal case for a police officer whose career was on the line. He couldn’t move forward from a record that should’ve been behind him. Matt helped him do exactly that.
Then came a bank director. Then dozens more, doctors, teachers, lawyers, students, parents. People whose futures were quietly stalled by a caution, an arrest, or a disclosure they barely remembered. That’s how Legisia began, a growing realisation that there was a need for something dedicated exclusively to record-related matters.
Today, Legisia is the UK’s leading practice dedicated exclusively to police record deletion, DBS appeals, and professional regulatory defence. Over the years, we’ve led hundreds of successful PNC deletion applications and helped professionals keep or recover their right to work. From resolving over 500 cases to earning over 200 five-star reviews, we have built a reputation based on results.
If you’re being held back by a police caution, arrest record, or DBS disclosure, whether recent or decades old, we’re here to help. Because we’ve seen what these records can do, and what happens when they’re removed.
Restoring Reputations Across the
UK & Internationally
We pride ourselves on being approachable, responsive, and deeply invested in our clients’ success.
Representation Throughout UK & Overseas
We act for clients across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and internationally. Whether you’re based in London, Edinburgh, or anywhere in the world, we can help. Most of our work is conducted remotely, with consultations by phone or video call. Where you are doesn’t change what we can do for you.
Supporting Our Clients Globally
Countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE take a strict approach to criminal records, even for minor or historic matters. A record can block a visa, delay citizenship, or end an overseas job offer. We help clients clear these barriers so they can move forward with their plans.
Overseas Convictions on the PNC
If you’re a UK national with an overseas conviction transferred onto the Police National Computer, it can affect DBS checks and ACRO Police Certificates for years. We’ve successfully argued for the deletion of overseas records, including cases that ACRO previously said could not be removed, helping change their policy.
Helping Professionals in Every Sector
We act for doctors, nurses, teachers, solicitors, barristers, accountants, social workers, police officers, financial professionals, and those in government or security roles. We also help students, parents, and anyone whose career or future has been affected by a police record, DBS disclosure, or regulatory investigation.
We Understand the Human Cost
We believe that a person’s reputation is not merely important, it is essential to their identity, their livelihood, and their sense of self-worth. That’s why we take the time to listen, giving our clients a realistic assessment of their prospects from the outset, explaining options clearly, even if that means telling them you cannot help.
A Specialist Practice with One Focus
Legisia exists solely to handle police record deletion, DBS appeals, and professional regulatory defence. It’s all we do. This singular focus, combined with a sensible and measured approach with police forces, has earned us a reputation built on over 17 years of successful outcomes.
Results Others Said Were Impossible
We’ve overturned decisions that others said couldn’t be challenged. Cautions deleted after initial refusals. DBS disclosures removed after appeals were rejected. Overseas convictions wiped from the PNC when ACRO said it wasn’t possible. If you’ve been told nothing can be done, we may see it differently.
Guiding You
Towards a Clean Slate &
Second Chances
At Legisia, our mission is to remove legal barriers and bring clarity to those seeking a second chance. Many of our clients come to us after being told nothing could be done, only to see decisions overturned that others said could not be challenged. We help people begin the journey toward a clean slate, where their life is no longer
defined by a record.
why we are different
We believe that minor criminal allegations, often accepted under pressure, sometimes arising from false accusations, frequently disproportionate to actual wrongdoing, should not be allowed to destroy careers, block opportunities, or define people for the rest of their lives. We exist to fight that injustice.
